Pastors corner- Navigating Transition Together: The Holy Spirit Builds the Church

by Pastor Chris Wall

This Easter season will definitely be different. As we send Pastor Bixby off in his new call to pastor in another church, we will feel all kinds of emotions. It's a time to grieve what we're losing, celebrate all the good ministry we've done, and also look to the future. I wanted to share some of what we've got going on in the time before an Interim Pastor arrives.

One thing I am particularly excited about is a new preaching team. Corenna Hoyt and Marissa Rapoza, both ordained ministers, will both be preaching for us once a month. I will be preaching twice a month. Our worship services will keep the same basic structure that you know, a wonderful mix of musical offerings

Starting April 16th, we'll launch a new sermon series through the book of Acts. We will follow the lectionary for this Easter season, through Pentecost. The series focuses on three key figures as the church established itself after Jesus's resurrection, but underneath those human characters is a constant truth: The Holy Spirit Builds the Church.

Hearing these texts from this preaching team will serve us well as we navigate the continuing transition. It will take a while for us as a body to find our new normal rhythms, which will then change again when the Interim Pastor gets here. But for now, let's lean together into Acts and the Holy Spirit. Jesus is still Risen! Hallelujah
