Music Ministries serves every generation of the congregation not just in providing vibrant, inspiring and instructional music for worship, but is also a ministry to the musicians, enabling them to give their skills and resources to further the church's mission.
Celebration Ringers - This choir of experienced English Handbell ringers plays a full four octaves of bells and chimes and a wide variety of repertoire from arrangements of the great classics to contemporary praise and jazz arrangements of sacred standards. We are members of Handbell Ringers of America and regularly participate in Festival Conference and other workshops to further our skills. The Ringers play in the 10:45 service once a month, usually on the 3rd Sunday and for other special programs.
Meets Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm
Chancel Choir - The Chancel Choir is a genial mixed group of singers who sing both a cappella and accompanied anthems in leading the 10:45 service service. They sing music from many eras and in many styles, from Renaissance to Gospel, from Bach to todays brightest young choral composers like Carson Cooman and Howard Helvey. Study of how people learn music and choral techniques undergirds our choir training and supports both learning by reading and listening to music parts.
The Chancel Choir anchors the Christmas Music Festival as well as the 10:45 Easter service, and also enjoys sharing choral festivals within the Evangelical Covenant Church as well as within the Attleboro and North Attleboro communities. Anyone who enjoys singing would be welcomed to give this choir a try.
Meets Wednesdays from 7:30-9pm
Junior Choir and Bell Choir - This children's choir welcomes all children grades 1-6 to learn to sing, play chimes and handbells, and play musical games - all to the purpose to assist children in developing their faith and understanding of Christianity. Rehearsals include age-appropriate teaching of the songs of the church, handbell and chime techniques, teamwork, age-appropriate leadership skills, and musical games.
The Junior Choir sings and/or rings once a month in one service or the other. One of the children's favorite yearly activities is performing the the traditional Swedish Lucia Pageant at the annual Christmas Music Festival. The children dress in traditional Swedish costumes and vie for the privilege of singing a solo as she/or he processes wearing the crown of candles.
In alternate years, the Junior Choir also ends it's season with a staged musical.
